Rules:
Game Master should:
1. Decide the number of Players (1-5), draw straws to see who goes first, list names on GAME BOARD.
2. Write down the 10 jobs that need doing on the JOB cards.
3. Write down 2 fun bonuses on the BONUS cards. Creative Bonuses will make people want to play.
4. Special Bonuses: there are 2 special bonus opportunities per game. Special bonuses motivate job completion. Place the two special bonuses in the yellow capsules for a mid-game and end-game bonus
5. Place 10 jobs, 2 bonuses, a BUMP card and a WILD card in the 14 red, blue and green capsules. Put the two special bonuses in the yellow capsules.
6. Put all the capsules into the Bonus Job Jar game. Give it a shake.
7. Let the game begin.
-
One Player
Player may, by chance, draw a regular bonus at any time. Player draws a yellow mid-game bonus after five jobs are completed and a yellow end-game bonus when all jobs are completed.
-
Two-Four Players
Players may, by chance, draw a regular bonus at any time. Player who completes the most jobs of the first five draws a yellow mid-game bonus. Player who completes the most jobs of the second five draws a yellow end-game bonus.
-
Five Players
Players may, by chance, draw a regular bonus at any time. Player who completes a job first draws a yellow mid-game bonus. The same goes for the second five jobs.
Bonus Cards
When a job is pulled it must be completed before that player can select again.
If a bonus is selected, way to go. You get a bonus and you select again.
The Wild Card gives a Player a one-time opportunity to return a job to the jar at any time during the game and redraw again.
The Bump Card gives Player a one time opportunity to bump a job to another Player or the Game Master.
The mid-game and end-game bonuses continue to motivate even after regular bonuses are drawn.
The Game Board: Use only an erasable pen on the laminated board. Mark the Players in the order selected to play the game. List the job drawn next to the Player's name and mark over the check mark when completed. If a Player selects the Bump, Wild or Bonus card, mark it in the area indicated in any way you would like. Use a moist paper towel to erase the markings.
Be inventive. Create new ways to let the Bonus Job Jar game work for you. It will make completion of jobs fun and rewarding. It encourages involvement and sharing. It promotes understanding of valves and responsibilities.
There is no limit on how to play. To get things going, both a job and bonus could be included in one capsule. In regular play, jobs and bonuses are randomly selected.
Remember, there must be a commitment from all Players. Be clear on the time frames for both jobs and bonuses.
